Homs resources begin providing irrigation water for crops
The Water Resources Directorate in Homs, in coordination with the agricultural sector and the Water Resources Directorate in Tartous, has begun securing irrigation water from Al-Housh Dam to irrigate an area of 6,000 hectares planted with various crops, as part of supporting the agricultural season and enhancing production.
Technical committees at the project site are supervising the water distribution operations directly to ensure they reach different crops according to the actual needs of each agricultural area. Maintenance teams have also been mobilised to address emergencies on the network, including replacing asbestos pipes and their joints, as well as changing gaskets along the pipeline routes to ensure continuous pumping and prevent any leaks.
These efforts aim to boost agricultural output by providing water to crops in a timely manner, reducing water wastage, and ensuring the continuity of agricultural investment, contributing to sustainable water resources and improving their efficient use.
