Homs resources are rolling out an emergency plan to get dams ready for the rainy season
In line with the directives of the General Authority for Water Resources aimed at ensuring the safety and readiness of dam facilities, the Director of Water Resources in Homs chaired a meeting attended by deputies and department heads at the directorate.
During the meeting, an emergency action plan for maintaining water facilities was approved, based on a comprehensive review of the current state of the dams. The plan included directing specialized technical teams to conduct urgent field inspections of the dam facilities, identifying the technical needs required to start immediate maintenance, and ensuring the readiness of spillways and outlets to handle water flows, maintain dam stability, and secure safe storage.
It was also emphasized to tighten monitoring systems, intensify field follow-ups, prepare equipment for rapid response to any emergencies, and position it near the dam sites to ensure quick action when needed.
These proactive measures come as part of the directorate’s commitment to the technical readiness of facilities and to making the most of this year’s rainfall.
