Homs Resources and the FAO Meet with Water Users' Associations

As part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Energy – General Authority for Water Resources and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Water Resources Director in Homs, Engineer Mohammed Hussein, along with a delegation from FAO, met with water users' associations in the villages of Al-Rabi’ah, Tal Al-Shour, and Hadidet Al-Assi to review the role these associations play in managing, operating, and investing in irrigation canals within their work area.

During the meeting, they discussed the working mechanism and the tasks carried out by the associations. These visits help support the resilience of the local community and deepen the concept of participatory irrigation through the role of water users' associations, especially given the limited water resources and the impact of climate change on the agricultural and water sectors, which in turn enhances their resilience and the sustainability of water resources.
