Follow-up on the works of the Chlefatia Pumping Station Rehabilitation Project implemented by the FAO

The Director of Water Resources in Latakia, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Qaddar, conducted a field visit to the Shalfatiya Pumping Station to follow up on the progress of the comprehensive rehabilitation works at the station and to review the actual progress on the ground. 
During the tour, the executed works and ongoing implementation stages within the full rehabilitation project of the station were reviewed. The director emphasized the importance of adhering to the approved technical specifications, accelerating the pace of work to ensure the project is completed according to the specified timelines, and improving the operational efficiency of the pumping station to positively impact the continuity of service to the beneficiary areas.
It is worth noting that the Shalfatiya Pumping Station is a main station that irrigates approximately 6,000 hectares of agricultural land, highlighting the vital importance of this project in supporting the agricultural sector and enhancing the sustainability of water resources.
 
These works come within the framework of cooperation and coordination with the FAO, which contributes to supporting the rehabilitation projects and developing the water infrastructure in the region.
