Fixing faults in the Western Canal Division to boost irrigation for 170 hectares in Tartous

The staff of the Directorate of Water Resources in Tartus carried out maintenance and repair work on malfunctions on two lines within the western canal branch, aiming to reduce water waste and improve irrigation efficiency for about 170 hectares of cultivated land.

The work included repairing a malfunction in a 150 mm asbestos pipe on the WC-1/MC21 line in the village of Deir al-Hajar, which irrigates around 20 hectares, in addition to fixing two malfunctions on the MPL2-1-6 line in the village of Arab al-Shati, with diameters of 400 mm and 250 mm, serving about 150 hectares of farmland.

These works are part of the ongoing maintenance plan for government irrigation networks to maintain their efficiency and ensure the continuous supply of irrigation water to farmland according to the watering schedule, contributing to supporting agricultural production.
