Fixing a leak in the Western Canal networks to boost irrigation for 1,200 hectares in the Akkar Plain in Tartous
The teams from the Directorate of Water Resources in Tartous have finished fixing two leaks on the main MpL line within the western canal networks of the Al-Abrash Dam. This helps deliver irrigation water efficiently to about 1,200 hectares of farmland in the villages of Al-Humidiyah, Arab Al-Shati, Al-Mantar, Wadi Al-Daliya, and parts of Tal Kazal and Al-Jammasa.
The work included repairing two leak spots on the line in the villages of Bahouzi and Al-Jammasa with a diameter of 1,200 mm, which reduces water waste and ensures stable irrigation. This comes as part of the routine maintenance carried out by the directorate to keep the network efficient and support the agricultural sector.
