Emergency maintenance of dam facilities in Homs Governorate, in preparation for the upcoming storage season.
In accordance with the directives of the General Authority for Water Resources, the Directorate of Water Resources in Homs is implementing an emergency maintenance plan. This plan includes field inspections of dam facilities to identify technical requirements, address malfunctions, and ensure operational readiness ahead of the upcoming storage season.
The inspections covered the dam structures and their associated facilities—including outlets, spillways, and seepage drainage channels—to verify their structural integrity and technical preparedness.
Maintenance activities included servicing the sluice gate at the Talil Dam, cleaning spillway structures at several dams, removing vegetation from the Muzaynah Dam, and refurbishing warning signs. These measures enhance the safety of the facilities, ensure secure water storage, and contribute to the efficient management of water resources.
The General Authority for Water Resources extends its gratitude to the technical staff and personnel at the Homs Directorate of Water Resources for their efforts in carrying out these maintenance tasks, and for their commitment to maintaining the operational readiness and long-term sustainability of the water facilities.
