Under the auspices of the Latakia Water Resources Directorate, an expanded meeting was held, bringing together the Water Extension Office – Integrated Management Department, along with water user associations and a number of founding farmers in the village of Al-Samiyah, as part of efforts to support a participatory approach to water resource management.

The meeting witnessed a significant step with the election of a board of directors for the Al-Samiyah – Qasiyah Water Users Association, reflecting a progressive move towards empowering farmers to play an active role in organizing water distribution and overseeing its efficient and equitable use.

This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance water sustainability and improve irrigation in the region by involving the local community in decision-making, thereby contributing to supporting agricultural production and achieving better management of available resources.
