Cooperation between the General Authority for Water Resources and the German GIZ to develop water studies and enhance basin management in Syria
As part of its ongoing efforts to develop water resources management in Syria and strengthen partnerships with international organizations, the Director General of the General Authority for Water Resources, Engineer Ahmed Al-Kawan, held a meeting with representatives from the German organization GIZ.
The two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in the areas of modernizing water basin studies and establishing specialized data centers. This aims to enhance the efficiency of water resources management and develop monitoring and analysis tools, in line with global trends in water conservation.
This cooperation is part of the Authority's strategy to strengthen its technical and institutional capacities by leveraging international expertise. The joint work with GIZ represents a significant step towards improving water basin management and developing the necessary information infrastructure to support decision-making in the water sector.
