Continuing the drainage works in the fifth sector
The embankment workshop at the Directorate of Water Resources in Deir ez-Zor continues its fieldwork in the fifth sector project by dredging and cleaning several drains, removing weeds, silt, and stagnant water, which helps improve water flow and enhance the efficiency of the drainage network.
These efforts are part of the directorate's plan to lower water levels in agricultural lands and reduce stagnant water accumulation, which helps combat soil salinity, preserve farmland, and improve its investment efficiency.
The directorate confirmed that dredging and regular maintenance of the drains and channels will continue, ensuring the irrigation and drainage system is ready and improving the services provided to farmers.
