Comprehensive maintenance work at PS8-1 pumping station, Islam Tower, for irrigating 235 hectares

The Directorate of Water Resources in Latakia continues its annual maintenance work on pumping units. Currently, the technical staff of the directorate are carrying out maintenance on the PS8-1 pumping station in Borj Islam, part of the Mashqita Dam pumping station group, which irrigates 235 hectares of the Mashqita Dam networks.

The work included dismantling the three pumps, cleaning the vanes, removing the old casing and worn gaskets, inspecting the shafts and bushings, cutting the gaskets, and installing a new casing, along with lubricating the bearings. The electrical panels were also inspected, and a motor operation test was conducted to ensure the system is ready to operate efficiently.

These works are part of the directorate's commitment to improving the efficiency of pumping stations, ensuring continuous operation, and enhancing the performance of the water system in the region.
