Comprehensive maintenance of irrigation networks and main canals to enhance irrigation efficiency in Raqqa
The Directorate of Water Resources in Raqqa has carried out comprehensive field maintenance works within the irrigation network in order to maintain the system's readiness and enhance its operational efficiency.
At the site of Jarwah (Al-Lour) canal and Al-Balikh canal at the Al-Burashid site, for the third consecutive day, preparations of the sites with appropriate technical works such as scrubbing, trimming, and transferring composted soil have continued in preparation for casting works.
As for the US4 canal, a quantity of 30 m³ with a mix ratio of 300 kg/m³ has been poured.
In a related context, the maintenance workshops continued dredging the drains at Khas Alaj with a length of 200 m, Kasrat Faraj drain with a length of 300 m, and the southern Mayslon drain with a length of 300 m.
The Directorate confirmed that these works are part of a periodic plan to improve the infrastructure of the irrigation networks and enhance their readiness to meet the needs of the agricultural season.
