Workshops at the Early Teams in the Water Resources Directorate in Deir Ezzor – Fifth Sector are continuing the dredging and cleaning of several canals by removing weeds, silt, and accumulated mud, ensuring smooth water flow and improving drainage efficiency.
Maintenance and dredging of canals are very important for protecting agricultural land, as they help reduce excess water levels, prevent water accumulation and stagnation on the land, and limit the rise of groundwater, which can lead to soil salinity and reduced fertility.
