Cleaning the first branch channel in the third sector under the Directorate of Water Resources in Deir Ezzor, in preparation for the winter agricultural season
Maintenance workshops in the third sector of the Deir ez-Zor Water Resources Directorate continue their work on dredging and cleaning the first branch of the canal from accumulated silt and debris during the irrigation pause, in preparation for the winter agricultural season.
These tasks are very important to ensure smooth irrigation water flow and its efficient and regular delivery to the farmlands, reducing obstacles caused by settled silt and debris. This helps meet the needs of crops, allows farmers to properly irrigate their lands, and supports the stability of agricultural production.
Dredging also helps maintain the canal’s integrity, prevent a drop in its operational efficiency, extend its service life, and ensure it is ready for irrigation once the winter season begins.
These efforts are part of the Water Resources Directorate in Deir ez-Zor taking advantage of the irrigation pause to carry out routine maintenance, improve the efficiency of the irrigation network, and support farmers by providing suitable conditions for irrigating their lands and protecting agricultural production.
