The maintenance teams at the Water Resources Directorate in Raqqa continued carrying out
maintenance, rehabilitation, and dredging of irrigation and drainage networks. The work covered various sectors:
Sector 1 – Stations Canal: Addressed a break site, which included removing cracked concrete, digging and dredging about 40 m³, and transporting and backfilling 60 m³ of soil with spreading and compacting in layers, as well as trimming the cross-section, removing the soil blockage, and opening the water flow.
Sector 2 – Al-Murtaha / Al-Rajm Canal: Treated cavities totaling 120 m³, removed cracked concrete and saturated soil, backfilled the sites with about 130 m³ of soil with spreading and compacting, and arranged soil transport with dump trucks.
Sector 3: Dredging of Canal 29 in Al-Abara for 500 m.
Sector 4: Treated the end of Hamra Blasm Canal with about 20 m³ of soil, and dredged Ali Bayram drainage in Al-Karama for 300 m.
Sector 5: Dredged a main drainage in Al-Dalha for 150 m.
These works are part of the directorate’s ongoing plan to maintain the readiness of irrigation and drainage networks, repair damages and cavities, ensure water flow, and serve agricultural lands.
