Damascus University, in coordination with the Water Resources Directorate in Daraa, organised a field trip for Civil Engineering students to link theoretical knowledge with real-world experience.

The trip included visits to the dams in Western Tafas, Tsil, and Sahm al-Jolan, where students were shown the structure of the dams and related facilities. The Director of Water Resources and his assistant provided a full explanation to the students about dam design, construction materials used, operation of the spillway and outlet, and how to manage and connect the dams, including supplying some of them with water from sources outside the catchment area.

The faculty and students praised the efforts and work of the directorate in harvesting rainwater and maintaining the safety of water facilities.
