A joint field tour to identify the river dredging needs before the rainy season
The Director of Water Resources in Tartous, the Director of Agriculture, the Head of the Farmers' Union, and the Director of the Land Reclamation Project carried out a field tour of the rivers Abu Al-Ward, Al-Arus, and Khalifa, in the villages of Tal Al-Sanoun, Al-Madhala, Tal Adas, Al-Hasana, Zarblet, and Al-Mushirfa, to check for potential blockages and identify the needs to clear and repair them before the rainy season.
The tour also included assessing the condition of the river channels and openings along the rivers, and monitoring the sites that need dredging or repairs, in preparation for planning and implementing work before the rainy season starts.
This tour comes as part of coordination between the concerned authorities and taking proactive measures to ensure the readiness of the river channels and improve their capacity to drain water, contributing to reducing flood risks and protecting nearby agricultural lands.
