A joint coordination to rehabilitate a bridge over the Orontes River in southern Homs countryside
As part of efforts to enhance coordination and cooperation between government agencies and integrate their roles, the Water Resources Directorate in Homs coordinated with the Technical Services Directorate by forming joint technical teams to work on rehabilitating a concrete bridge over the Orontes River at the village of Rableh in the Al-Qusayr area.
The work included conducting a topographic survey of the site and participating in preparing the project's technical file, ensuring the river's water cross-section is maintained, water flows safely, and flood waves are absorbed during the rainy season, as well as studying ways to divert the river water during the implementation stages.
Rehabilitating the bridge helps residents access their agricultural lands, ensures water flow, reduces the risk of flooding farmland, protects water resources, preserves the natural environment of the riverbed, and supports the sustainable management of water resources.
