The Deputy Minister of Energy for Water Resources, Engineer Osama Abu Zeid, conducted a field visit to the Al-Sayha area in the southern Aleppo countryside, accompanied by the Director General of the General Authority for Water Resources, Engineer Ahmed Al-Kawan, the Director of Water Resources in Aleppo, Ahmed Al-Ahmad, and the Director General of the General Establishment for the Euphrates Dam, Engineer Haitham Bakour.The purpose of the visit was to inspect the work being done to reinforce the earthen embankments following a partial collapse in the area due to a drop in water levels.
Technical teams from the Directorate, in cooperation with local residents, worked to seal the collapse site with sandbags before engineering equipment began reinforcing the embankment and stabilizing the site to prevent any potential leakage.
"Abu Zeid" emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination with the local community to ensure the sustainability of the implemented solutions, noting that the Ministry is continuing its efforts to improve water infrastructure in the affected areas.
For his part, Engineer Al-Kawan stressed the Authority's commitment to continuously monitoring the technical situation and completing the embankment reinforcement procedures to ensure the protection of residential areas near dams and lakes.
