A coordination meeting to discuss the state of water resources and their needs in Quneitra Governorate
A coordination meeting held in Quneitra Governorate discussed the current state of the water resources sector and its main needs and challenges, with the participation of several government bodies, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the southern region (OCHA), and UN sector coordinators, under the coordination of the Directorate of International Cooperation.
The Directorate of Water Resources in Quneitra participated in the meeting, represented by its director, Engineer Rabie Nasser Al-Afash, where they reviewed the current status of water resources in the governorate, the needs related to their management and utilization, and discussed the main challenges and priorities that require support and coordination in the upcoming phase.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance coordination between government bodies, organizations, and UN agencies, and to direct support and programs towards the actual needs of the water resources sector, contributing to tackling existing challenges and supporting priority projects in the governorate.
The meeting aims to unify priorities and exchange information among relevant parties, which helps improve coordination in preparing and implementing programs and projects related to the water resources sector in Quneitra Governorate.
