A word from the CEO

The General Authority for Water Resources is the legal custodian of water resources in Syria. Based on this principle, the Authority, represented by its central administration, directorates, and branch directorates in the governorates, works diligently and continuously to secure water for citizens according to Syria's strategic priorities (drinking, agriculture, industry, services, etc.). It also works to address the numerous challenges posed by climate change and the drought conditions affecting our region in general, as well as the economic and political circumstances in Syria in particular.

We pray to God to guide our steps so that we may contribute to the recovery of Syria after liberation, making it a free, strong, and productive nation, thanks to the dedication of its people and those who govern it.

Within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between the Syrian government – Ministry of Energy – General Authority for Water Resources and the FAO: Supporting irrigation projects and pumping stations

The Water Resources Directorate in Deir ez-Zor discussed with the FAO the priorities for supporting irrigation projects and pumping stations, which contribute to the rehabilitation of agricultural infrastructure and support the stability of the people in the eastern rural areas.

Enhancing water readiness by restoring the Ain Smak stream in the Quneitra countryside

The Water Resources Directorate in Kenitra carried out dredging and cleaning works for the Ain Smak stream in the village of Al-Halas in northern Kenitra countryside, aiming to improve water flow and address bottlenecks and obstacles within the watercourse, contributing to enhancing water readiness and maintaining service conditions in the area.

Homs resources begin providing irrigation water for crops

The Water Resources Directorate in Homs, in coordination with the agricultural community and the Water Resources Directorate in Tartus, has started supplying irrigation water from Al-Housh Dam to irrigate an area of 6000 hectares planted with various crops, as part of supporting the agricultural season and enhancing production.

Mr. Deputy Director General of the Water Resources Authority, Engineer Abdulaziz Mahmoud Al-Abdulaziz, along with the Director of Water Resources in Hama, conducted an inspection tour of the units, sections, and departments of the Hama Water Resources Directorate, where he listened to the main problems and difficulties that hinder the workflow, and discussed ways to address them in accordance with regulations and laws.
