A word from the CEO

The General Authority for Water Resources is the legal custodian of water resources in Syria. Based on this principle, the Authority, represented by its central administration, directorates, and branch directorates in the governorates, works diligently and continuously to secure water for citizens according to Syria's strategic priorities (drinking, agriculture, industry, services, etc.). It also works to address the numerous challenges posed by climate change and the drought conditions affecting our region in general, as well as the economic and political circumstances in Syria in particular.

We pray to God to guide our steps so that we may contribute to the recovery of Syria after liberation, making it a free, strong, and productive nation, thanks to the dedication of its people and those who govern it.

The Latakia Water Resources Directorate is carrying out mechanical maintenance work to enhance the readiness of pumping stations.

Mechanical maintenance work continued at the Al-Harrah pumping station, including pump maintenance and replacement of worn parts, as well as lubrication and reinstallation, all under the supervision of specialized technical staff.

Works of the Water Resources Directorate in Deir Ezzor Governorate

The Awaker workshop, affiliated with the Directorate of Water Resources in Deir ez-Zor, carried out drainage canal cleaning works in the eighth sector within the town of Granij, as part of efforts to address the damage caused by the heavy rainfall recently experienced in the area. The large amounts of rain have led to the formation of puddles and increased water levels in agricultural lands, threatening crop damage and raising the risk of soil salinisation, which negatively affects agricultural production.
